Therapy For Men

A place for men to be heard. Properly.

Life asks a great deal of men.

We’re often expected to provide, protect, perform, keep going, and carry things without making too much noise about it.

Over time, that can take its toll.

Work builds pressure. Relationships become strained. Fatherhood changes things. Anxiety creeps in. Confidence drops. Or you just start to feel a bit lost in yourself.

If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not on your own.

At The Bodhi Tree, I’ve become particularly known for working with men through these kinds of periods.

The Bodhi Tree for Men is about creating space for that work properly, through one-to-one counselling, and in time, groups and other shared spaces.

Wherever you are today, you’re welcome to start from there.

Why it matters

I’ve come to do more and more work with men, not because men’s experiences are more important than anyone else’s, but because many men have learned to cope by staying silent. That works, until it doesn’t.

When men start speaking honestly, things tend to shift. Relationships improve. Fatherhood becomes more present. Anger becomes easier to understand. Pressure becomes more manageable. And life starts to feel less like something you’re just pushing through.

One-to-One Counselling

Sometimes what you need most is one person who will actually listen.

Individual counselling is a private space to talk things through without judgement or pressure.

Some men come because things feel overwhelming. Some because relationships are breaking down. Some because of anxiety, burnout, grief, or fatherhood hitting harder than expected. Others because something just doesn’t feel right anymore, even if they can’t quite explain why.

You don’t need to arrive with it all worked out. We start where you are.

From there, we make sense of what’s been happening, what matters to you, and what needs attention.

The aim is simple: a clearer understanding of yourself, and a way forward that feels more steady and more yours.

Men’s Group

COMING SOON

A small, in-person group for men in the Folkestone/Canterbury areas.

For some people, talking in a group feels easier than one-to-one therapy. Hearing other men speak honestly can take the pressure off, and it can make your own experience feel clearer without needing to force it.

Over time, it becomes a steady space where things can be spoken about a bit more openly, and you realise you’re not dealing with everything on your own.

The group will always be confidential and what is shared is expected to stay within the room. It is facilitated by me as a qualified therapist and will run weekly in person in the Folkestone / Canterbury area (location TBC).

If you’d like to know more or have a question, you’re welcome to get in touch: hello@bodhitreetherapy.co.uk
